The growing popularity of roller skating in the United States led to the formation of organized multi-day endurance races for cash prizes, as early as the mid-1880s. Speed and endurance races continued to be held on both flat and banked tracks in the century's first three decades and spectators enjoyed the spills and falls of the skaters. The term ''derby'' was used to refer to such races by 1922. == Associations == There are a multitude of roller derby associations in the United States. * USA Roller Sports (USARS)〔http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Roller-Sports.aspx〕 - 383 Member Leagues〔http://www2.teamusa.org/USA-Roller-Sports/Resources/Member-Lists.aspx〕 * Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA)〔http://www.wftda.com〕 - 301 Member Leagues (92 Apprentice Leagues)〔http://wftda.com/leagues〕 * Men's Roller Derby Association (MRDA)〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Men's Roller Derby Association: Home )〕 - 25 Member Leagues〔http://www.mensderbycoalition.com/leagues/〕 * Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA)〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Junior Roller Derby Association )〕 - 19 Member Leagues * Modern Athletic Derby Endeavor (MADE)〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Modern Athletic Derby Endeavor (MADE) )〕 - 28 Member Leagues * World Organization of Roller Derby (WORD) 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Roller derby in the United States」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
